[First posted at AWOL 23 July 2012, updated 14 June 2019 (newly hosted at AUB)]

OACIS for the Middle East
OACIS (Online Access to Consolidated Information on Serials) is a freely accessible Union List of journals and serials from and about the Middle East. Formats include print, microfilm, and online, and languages include: Arabic, English and French (more may be added as we go). OACIS aims to provide bibliographic and holdings information for Middle Eastern Serials; improve access to Middle Eastern Serials in the US, Europe, and the Middle East; and support scholarship from and about the Middle East.
OACIS began at the Yale University Libraries in 2003, and in collaboration with over 20 participating institutions. It was designed, implemented and maintained with the support of the U.S. Department of Education Title IV grant, under the “Technological Innovation and Cooperation for Foreign Information Access”. As of May 2014, the custody and oversight of OACIS passed on to the University Libraries of the American University of Beirut, who took over the responsibility of maintaining, expanding and overseeing OACIS.
Currently, the following institutions contribute to OACIS, under the Leadership of the AUB University Libraries: Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) Library; and Yale University; (more will be added as we proceed).
For any questions regarding OACIS, please contact AUB University Libraries at: oacis@aub.edu.lb
